Check out this great memory game made with bits of fabric. could also use scrapbook paper. would make a really fun gift. I am making one to give to my cousins little kids who we are stopping to see in El Paso on the way home. Can't wait.

52 questions for the self to be answered through a mini art journal! this is the place to share your goods, chitty chat, and ooh and ahh over every one's creativity!

While I was Internet surfing last night I came across this Flicker group

I am so ready for another project, this is great! And ya'll it will be EASY. I PROMISE!

I got a box of the big tags (those yellow ones) from an office store. There are more than enough for the whole year.

Once a week I will post a question from this flicker group. (THIS IS NOT MY IDEA, and I will be using their questions)

All you have to do is decorate a tag for each question. SO easy.

I will be putting them together with a ring. But you could tie them, bind them, whatever.

SO to catch up with January you will have 4 tags to do. BUT hey we have the whole day to play!!! Then you will just be doing one tag a week. How simple!

If you go to the link you can see some examples of what others have done. You could always make your own tags, or use an altered book (ohhh I might change and do that). But once again I want to see your work every week! Maybe we will do some kinda prize or something?!

FABRIC CUFF BRACELETS

I first saw these on Rebecca Sowers blog. I love her. I thought these were just way too wonderful not to make myself. I am "borrowing" this picture from her blog so PLEASE check her out.

Molly Chicken has a great tutorial for one style of these beautiful bracelets.

But you know me... I am just going to wing it. Now that I have these beautiful bracelets as inspiration. I will tell you I grabbed some Velcro for the closure. I also grabbed some hook and eyes. So I will see what works best. But just measure your wrist, cut fabric (does not even have to be hemmed- the fray look looks cool) embellish, add closure, and then MOST IMPORTANT DIRECTION send me a picture of your beautiful jewelry!

If you did not see me this past week, I cut off all my hair! So I am so excited to make some funky headbands to highlight my new STYLE!

Heather Bailey has posted the greatest directions for some SUPER EASY, SUPER CUTE headbands.

Ok, I should be somewhat back to normal. But really what is that? Wyatt's b-day over (10 years!!), Christmas over (I HATE that I feel this way), Mom and dad party over, Mom and dad in Bolivia safely, my house looks like mine again, and I think, after a day of rest, my cold might also be over!!

SO a blogging I will go...

I LOVE this vintage image. It totally seems to sum up my New Year. And you know me and vintage. I hope every one's 2009 is blessed. You all are counted in my blessings!!

We had a PACKED Christmas. We had 14 people at Tomey and Jana's in Corpus and 4 dogs (I left Boomer at home). It was really special. All of Dad's family came to see the baby and say goodbye to mom and dad. My great aunt and another aunt did not join us at the beach.

I love "surfing" the net and finding inspiration for "my" art. Here is a site I check out every now and then, http://printpattern.blogspot.com/, Print and Pattern. It is mainly a stationary and fabric site but they have some of the coolest and newest color combo's and great images. Just some place to get your creative juices flowing.

So I am not one for New Year's Resolutions, or should I say Keeping New Year's Resolutions, but here would be some things on my list if I had one:

* lose weight (I know, I know)

* keep up with NYOBC projects

* send out more cards (alright, send out ANY cards)

* keep my scrap space organized

* keep up with my blogs

Ok, that is enough, considering my resolution track record! Post a comment and let us know your resolutions. Maybe we can help each other stay on track!

OLW (one little word)

so last year we all picked a word to try and be our "focus" word for the year. My word was STOP. What was yours? And how did you do? You might want to scrap a page in your OLW book (if you did it last year) or in your scrapbook about the word and how you view it now after a year. In some was, personal, I totally lived up to my word. And there were several time through out the year that I or a friend reminded me of my word. A month would go by and I would not even think about it but for the most part when I needed it my word stood as my Matra for 2008. Leave me a comment about your word and if it played a role in your year. Also are you picking a new word for 2009?

NYOBC will be on Jan. 25th this month because of the 3 day weekend on the 18th. With the extra weekend we should all be able to get a lot done. (you know I am the pot calling the kettle) Anyway, I have already received the new kits and they are GREAT! I mean GREAT! It is all I can do to keep it a surprise!

Hellooo everyone! I have been trying to hack into the blog for the past few days, but couldn't remember the name/password!! Luckily, I know Jody well enough, that I finally figured it out...

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that I MISS you!!! I got to see some of you at last week's Book Club, but for the most part, that's all I got to do~ see you! I hardly got to actually talk to any of you.

So here's what I'm thinking...

How 'bout in late January, after all this holiday craziness is over, we all get together and do something crazy. Like, I don't know... SCRAPBOOK??? Post a comment to let us know who is interested, and we will plan something great!

Look at this scrappers table. Jordan spent days on it. Everything had beads and glitter, etc. You all would be so proud of her. :)

Ok I know I have said it at least 100 times but I LOVE (BIG Heart Here) Whitbox photography. They are my heros. BUT you have to look at this wedding. What a cool wedding. My wedding was wonderful. Very formal, elegant, all candle light, red roses, etc. BUT just so not who I am now. If I were getting married again (of course to Bill!) this is EXACTLY what I would do.

Ok so I spent the WHOLE day at mom's getting ready for the Garage Sale. It is really like an estate sale. I had NO clue she had soooooo much stuff. I was going crazy because I kept thinking "I could paint that, I could recover that, I could use that!" I filled the van and did not even make a dent. She has sooooo many frames that all you great art people could do so many things with

PLUS she has a TON of her art work for CHEAP CHEAP. With Christmas coming you can really get a deal. I mean $400-$600 dollar paintings for $25 bucks!

Ok, just got an email from Jenny Bowlin and you know how I LOVE her stuff. Well here is her new line. I am totally wanting it (NO I NEED IT). Anyway, I need a FOR SURE from 9 of you that you would want the kits. Perfect for Christmas or Valentines or ANYTHING that is what is so great about her style.

I will get the whole line and then divy it up between 10 (me and 9 of you). Each of us will get:

2 of each of the 12 x 12 papers

1 pack of the mini papers

1 die cut sheet

1 set of each of the Bingo Cards (LOVE THESE)

and one set of the full Calendar Die Cut Cards!!!

I will NOT be making any $$ off this I will only charge what it is costing me. BECAUSE 1) I love you and 2) I NEED IT!! (like I need a whole in the head)

Depending on the mark-up a Scrapbook store were to put on these items this "kit" would run you around $92.00.

I will be charging $44.00 (this is the total cost divided between all 10 of us- if shipping comes in under it might be alittle less) This include shipping, any taxes, etc..

BUT I do not have the $400 to get this so I need a YES and a check from you before I can order it. Leave a comment and when I get about 6 I will go ahead and get it (hoping - praying I can get rid of the rest)

Let me know ASAP I would like to get this ordered soon before they get backordered with it. If this works I will probably be doing more of these GROUP orders. YEAH

PS- if anyone is reading this and is not in San Angelo, I could always ship it to. Shipping is usually betwen $5-10. Still a great deal.

I love Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, I love Pumpkin coffee creamer, and I love pumpkin baked goods. (Fits right in with our love of Halloween!)

Enjoy these Pumpkin Cranberry Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup solid pack pumpkin puree
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cranberries
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla, egg and pumpkin. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; stir into mixture until well blended. Cut the cranberries in half and stir into mixture along with the orange zest and walnuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Record Your Life for a Month

Discover All There Is To Be THANKFUL FOR!

Ok, Ya'll Ready? It has been exactly two years since we did the October book.

I am so excited to be doing a MONTH album again. This album was originally seen in the Big Picture book (still one of my all time fav. scrapbook books).

If you did not do this with us two years ago and have no clue what I am talking about you just record your (and your families) life for one month! You get a simple journal, note cards, album, whatever and do a SIMPLE little journal, picture, mini scrapbook page etc. for everyday during one month. Don't forget guys to keep track of miles on your call, emails, phone calls, diapers changed, loads of laundry, trips to HEB, etc. Also, get a disposal camera to keep with you at all times. This album will be one you will treasure and be so much fun to look back on in the future. TRUST me. Last time we did this we had 22 people do it and they all loved it.

We will meed at the beginning of Dec. to show off our books. Please post a comment here to let me know how many are playing. And when you get your book post a pic of it. If you have ANY questions please email me or post a question.

HEY guys!

I am having so much fun getting ready for book club this month! You know how much I love Halloween.

I have a favor of NYOBC members. I have to (need to) go to Corpus next weekend with mom for Jana's baby shower (I have missed 2 already and this is the last one). Is there anyway we can just move book club back to 3:00? We should still be done by 4:00 since there are no questions to go over. We are making a VERY cool craft though!!! Plus I have pulled out all kinds of Halloween Goodies.

FREEZER paper (this is not wax paper)

WOW, how much fun! If you were not here on Sunday, you missed it. I was a little stressed about having class the day before school started but it turned out to be EXACTLY what we

all needed. A great time to unwind and spend an afternoon with friends!
