Photography Class: It snowed!!

"Mom, Take a Picture of our Snowballs!"

Ami and the cat went out to get the paper this morning.

At our Photography Class last Sunday, everyone kind of, well more than kind of, laughed at me when I said to try to get snow pictures this month. Little did you all know, Ami has E.S.P.... and a little luck!

Take this opportunity to go outside and play with the lighting settings on your camera. Practice with the snow setting if you have one. If not, leave your camera on the "automatic" setting, and let your camera do the work for you.

A little hint: Have Coffee or Hot Chocolate brewing for when you come in-- It's COLD out there!

Also, I have been playing with the exposure increment button on my camera, and have taken some amazing pictures in front of the fireplace, without using a flash.

If you are interested in joining the Photography Class next month, take some winter pictures and join us on the first Sunday of February. (Call SU to let us know you are coming.)

Things to Ponder...

Things to ponder...

1. Can you cry under water?

2. How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

3. Why do you have to "put your two cents in", but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"?--Where's that extra penny going to?

4. Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?5. Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

6. What disease did cured ham actually have?

7. How is it that we put a man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

8. Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?9. Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?

10. Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

11. Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.

12. Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?

"Bad" Weather!

Are you iced in and scrapping too?
With most of the area shut down, I know a lot of us are home and the lucky ones are scrapping! That is one good thing about being stuck inside :)

In case your creativity is running thin, I thought I'd share this great sketch site with you. Check out http://www.pagemaps.com/

The sketches that Becky Fleck does are amazing--and she has a huge catalog of them. Just scroll down the left hand side of the page and explore. Enjoy!
