A Message from Ami & Jody

(Many of you may have received this in an email... for those of you not on our list, here's the message we sent.)

Dear Friends,

Over the past several months, our lives have grown increasingly busy. As our children are becoming older, they are involved in more time-consuming activities, and we have found ourselves time and time again having to choose between participating in family activities, and going to work at the store to be with our scrapbook family. It has been more and more difficult for us to keep up with the responsibilities of owning Scrapbook University, as well the responsibilities of our families.

Together, we have made the decision that it would be best to sell or close Scrapbook University. In the past five years, you all have become far more than customers; you have become our second family. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult decision for us, but we feel that it is the best choice for our families and our futures.
We are hoping to stay involved in the scrapbook community in San Angelo, by doing several things:

  • First, we will continue to post to our Blog. In doing so, we will be continuing our group projects and posting of scrapbook trends and tidbits that we find. For so many of us, the blog has become a way to stay connected to the scrapbooking industry and to each other, and we just cannot give that up.

  • We will continue to have our own Book Club chapter. This way, we will be able to maintain the many friendships that we have made, and see your smiling faces at least once a month.
We will also hold Community “Alumni” Crops several times a year, to stay in touch with as many of you as possible. We have grown to love all of you, and enjoy seeing your lives through photographs and layouts.

  • For those of you already signed up for National Scrapbook Day, you are in for a treat; although this will be our last NSD, it will still be our store’s 5th birthday party, and it will be the biggest and best by far!

It is our wish for Scrapbook University to continue, so hopefully we will find the perfect buyer to make Scrapbook University their own. Since the business has so many pieces to it, there are several options for purchasing the store. It can be purchased as it is, with the furnished Bed & Breakfast attached; or just the scrapbook store itself can be purchased, without furniture in the B&B (If this is the case, the building can possibly be shared with another business).

We will continue to offer retreats until the building is sold. Don’t forget, they are still at the discounted rate of $400 per weekend, for the entire group (up to 8).

We cannot thank you all enough for your support of Scrapbook University over the past five years. We have been truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of women.

Sincerely,
Ami & Jody

This breaks my heart, but I know it is the best thing for you both right now. I don't think I can express in words how much SU and your friendship has meant to me. It was not until I discovered SU that I truly felt at home in San Angelo. SU will always hold a very special place in my heart. Love you both very much and best of luck in a new phase of life.

I know this was a hard decision for the two of you to make. Scrapbook University has been like a second home to me (especially recently!). I have met so many wonderful people through the store and have come to know both of you and your families better.
I wish both of you the best in your lives with your families and your futures. Just enjoy those little ones while you can --- they grow up so fast (as you are finding out).
Love you and Best Wishes!

Ami & Jody,

It has really been a joy to see how you both have touched the lives of so many women over the past 5 years through your love of scrapbooking. I've always enjoyed stopping by to see what you are up to. Ü I wish you both the best with whatever the future holds for you and your families.

Sweet blessings to you both!
