Great Book
Just finished this book and it is AMAZING!
Very emotional, but well worth every tear spent!
One of my favorite quotes from the book:
It is my most urgent wish to be reborn. It is the only wish I have now, the only desire left to me. Everything else, all passion, all hope, slowly fades to the point where I cannot see it anymore. It is difficult for me to even imagine a time when passion moved me, or hope lifted me. I want nothing that I used to want, which makes me not the person that I used to be. We create ourselves through what we desire, and I don't know who I am anymore.
WOW! Enjoy!

Daisy D Class by Jody
So I am going to teach a class at my house on July 13th from 3-5ish. We will also be having high tea! I just love the Daisy D wonder collection so I am going to be using that. We will be making a mini book and some other goodies. Plus I have a few tricks up my sleeve to share. The class is going to be $27 and includes everything you need, you will get everything you see in the picture, 8x8 pad, buttons, flowers and ribbon, plus mini album and more, (please bring you basic supply kit), high tea, and tons of fun! I have been dying to play with you guys!
Right now I only have enough kits for 5. I can get more but need to know ASAP. Please post here or email me jwaters4@suddenlink.net if you want to come. AND please come if you sign up. This is all coming out of my pocket (and fyi, I am only charging what it is going to cost me- because I love you all and LOVE to play with you) and it will not go over well with hubby if I charge all this and no one show up. THANKS

I am back
So sorry I did not do craft Sunday. I was so exhausted last night and I needed to give what little energy I had left to my family. We will get back on track this weekend. I will give you until Sat. to send my pic of the last two crafts to be entered into a drawing for some goodies.
NYOBC is this weekend and it is the last one of our 3 month course. Since we still do not have a buyer for the store I will continue to do bookclub. If you are interested please come to class on Sunday at 1:30 or Tuesday night at 5:30. This will be the last NYOBC meeting at SU. BUT we will continue to play at my house. NYOBC will continue to be on the third Sunday of the month. I will no longer have 2 meetings. We will only have a Sunday meeting. I am actually glad about this. I have always hated that everyone does not get to see EVERYONE'S wonderful artwork. I will be adding lots of fun things to bookclub and we will continue to be a great group of women who love crafting. I will be changing up a few things (for the better) so be sure to come either Sunday or Tuesday. If you can not make it but want to either continue to be involved or would like to join the fun, please email me ASAP jwaters4@suddenlink.net so I know how many kits to order.

I've missed you all!
Hi... Remember me? Ami-- the "other" one! Sorry I have been out of the blogging loop lately, but life has been so busy for me since school got out... My husband had 2 back surgeries in Plano, one on June 2 and one on June 9. On the weekend in-between the two surgeries, I had to take my Girl Scout troop camping! (The trip was planned way before the surgeries, and I could not change/get out of it.) Anyway, after several "minor" complications following my husbands surgeries, we finally were able to come home last Tuesday-- Just in time for me to take a CPR Instructor's course on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Yes, I am exhausted, but I can now say that my sleeping bags are put away, my husband is medicated, I am certified to teach people how to save lives, and the 9th load of laundry is in the dryer! I think next week is going to be a little calmer.
I'm hoping to get a group together to crop soon~ anyone want to play?

Just made it!
Treasures!
Ready to make something?
So like I said before this is a Rebecca Sower idea. She is so amazing. Check out her site for her pictures of the awesome project.
http://rebeccasower.typepad.com/rs_out_of_hand/2008/06/handmade-from-1.html
Cut a piece of thin plywood, matboard or foamboard to fit frame opening. Cut a piece of sturdy fabric big enough to wrap around board. Decide how you want your old buttons to be spaced and mark the places where you'll stitch on the buttons. Stitch the buttons on (not too tight). Spray the board with spray adhesive if you have it. Place the fabric over the board and wrap around to the back of the board. Secure the board to the frame. And then you get to have fun...coming up with what you'd like to hang on the buttons. An inspiration board? Family photos? Your button card collection? Anything could work and you can change them out as you like. (from Rebecca Sower)
Doesn't this look great. That Rebecca S. so talented. Can't wait to start on my own. I know exactly where I am going to hang it.
Post my own pictures later. Have fun!!!

So Never Knew
Summer makes Me cook
I know the heat of summer should drive me out of the kitchen but I love to find yummy salads, breads, chilled soups, etc. in the summer. I think maybe because I tend to have more time to cook. Makes it more fun. So anyway, when we were in NY Bill and I fell in love with a Bakery named Panera's. We have sinced discovered they are in a lot of big cities. They are so great. Wonderful fresh yummies. Their website has recipes! I love a restraunt that shares!!!
Check them out. I am planning on making the chilled cucumber soup on Sunday. I'll tell you how it turns out.

Hello! and next group project, NYOBC, Plus more news
Ok, so sorry. Been a little crazy around here. BUT the most wonderful news: My son accepted Christ at VBS this week! So great. And I am so lucky to have Renea, Becky, Debbie, Regan, Colleen, and I am sure I am missing someone, anyway, such great friends who worked VBS and got to share this moment with me. So very exciting week.
I have also gone now for almost 2 weeks without AMI. This is really hard for me. I truly do not feel myself. But she will be home this weekend. YEAH. John is doing great and life should be back to normal soon! We will be sending out an email about when the store will be open next week. Look for a BIG sale. We need to get it all cleaned out! Perfect time for you to get some organizing stuff for your own scrap space this summer.
So next group project!
I am so excited about this one. Hint, Hint.
This project will go nicely with our ABC book. It is....... 1,2,3
Numbers play an important role in our lives. They can symbolize an important date, the number of children you have, or just a lucky number. So lets pay tribute to those special numbers in our lives.
I am going to go literally 1, 2, 3. Here is my number one.
My number one is My God, My Faith. I struggle every day with keeping Him front and center, aka. #1 in my life but this is what I wanted to show as my 1.
I decided to try my hand at a little hybrid scrapping. I just found a font I liked at dafont.com and then added pictures. I have printed it out on Cardstock and then cut it out in the shape of a the 1. I will do this with every number, punch a hole and ring together. On the back of each number I am journaling. I will have more pictures ready soon. But wanted you to get started. Just like before PLEASE send me picture when you get a page done so we can all play along. jwaters4@suddenlink.net
Here is the blank one I used. You could always print this one and then glue pictures to it.
I had so much fun with last Sunday's Craft with me. I am going to do it again. I know this Sunday is Father's day but while they are golfing lets CRAFT!
Now no-one sent me any pic. of their t-shirt pants but I know you guys still want to play with me. So I will post the idea Sunday morning and then what I made on Sunday night.
JOIN ME!
Here is the supply list so you can be ready to play:
old frame
plywood, or foam board (cut the size of inside of frame)
piece of linen or any fabric you like (a little bigger then board)
buttons
spray adhesive
needle and thread
This is so great (a Rebecca Sower Project) you are so going to be jealous if you don't do this with me!
Here is a sample of one of the binders finished! It is so cute. I have finished mine and LOVE it. Can't wait to share it with you. I have decided to start taking pictures of projects I do as gifts and putting them in this binder to help me remember what I do. I never thought I would forget what I made but... Guess I am getting old. This binder is also great to store poems, quotes, layout ideas, sketches, etc.
One last thing...
Please let me know you are out there.
To encourage you to post a comment. I will be doing another RAK... So post a comment to this post by Sunday and my kids will draw a name for a really cool gift from me.
Love you guys

NYOBC how is your Doodling Coming
Swap Finished!
How great is it that I found a scrapbook mag. with my colors on the cover! Tray also includes, journal, mints (in matching tin), homemade cards, matching flower mini album, fabric swatches, scrapbook paper (attached with a matching clip), stamp set, pens, ribbon, more ribbon, and then the totally cool tray.
A funny
So this summer I am really trying to make my kids do more around the house. I mean they always have to clean their room, dishes, etc. but we think they are now old enough to really help out. So last night I asked Wyatt to clean the kitchen after dinner. He did everything from clear the table to load dishwasher to put food away. He had asked what to do with the hot dogs (I know GREAT dinner mom- so not my point here) and I told him to put them in a ziplock bag and put away. Later last night Bill went to the pantry for a midnight snack and came back laughing. I asked what was up and he told me to go look. Instead of the fridge, which I just assumed was an unspoken bit of knowledge my 8 year old should have, he put them in the pantry. :) Ask for help and you have to be willing to accept what you get.
Have a great day.

change of plans
I was so planning on Scrapping today. I have a lot of ideas floating around in my head that I am dying to sit and create. BUT NO. Instead the kids and I are doing the FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLE BEE cleaning! Got a call last night that my aunt and uncle, cousin, wife and child will be here today from CA. This very normal for my family (which Drives Bill crazy. He does not understand how my family just SHOWS up from all across the country. I was impressed that we got a days notice. My dads side of the family usually calls from Eden (they come OK)) ANYWAY, needless to say my house is no where near ready for company.
So creative juices are put away for another day. Oh I am so sad.
